University Guidelines: Temporary Relocation for HRDs at Risk
As part of CAHR’s UNESCO Chair activities, we are looking to develop guidelines to support universities offering temporary relocation to human rights defenders / activists at risk, and those interested in doing such work, as well as those who host HRDs in other ways, eg as staff or students.
To start the process, we have developed an outline of the key areas of focus for these guidelines and a list of questions that the document would address. We would be grateful if those with experience of hosting HRDs / activists could review this document and provide feedback by the end of January 2024.
We would also like to hear from those who would be interested in taking part in the project and working on the university guidelines with us. If you have hosted HRDs / activists, either on formal schemes or as students, or are planning to do so, and would like to be involved, please email hrdhub@york.ac.uk
